Topics will include: Importance of addressing physical health disparity conditions in autistic adults Structural discrimination in NIH-funded studies on physical health disparity conditions in autistic adults Description of conflicts of interest within an NIH-funded culture of academia that contribute to systemic structural discrimination in funding policies.

NTDC Presents: Developing Inclusive Training Programs Through Universal Design for Learning

Join us for an interactive discussion on universal design for learning (UDL) and learn how your program can develop a more inclusive training approach by applying UDL principles. The panel will highlight two training programs in the AUCD Network with experience applying UDL in their work. Come prepared with questions and plan to participate in a facilitated activity! We highly encourage training programs to come ready to share their program's approach to UDL and/or bring a document or resource on which they would like to get feedback on from a UDL lens.

AIR-P Neurology Node Updates: Examining co-occurring neurologic conditions in autism across a lifespan

Dr. Rujuta Bhatt Wilson will share Neurology Node Updates from the AIR-P project. The webinar will include updates on intervention studies, examining neurologic conditions in genetic Neurodevelopmental syndromes, and examination of the prevalence of co-occurring neurologic and neurodegenerative diseases in autism in adulthood.

AUCD Health and Disability SIG Webinar: Interdisciplinary Models for Improving Healthcare Transition and Adult Healthcare Provision in Individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities

Youth with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) face unique challenges when transitioning from pediatric to adult healthcare, including access to care, and experience poorer health outcomes when transitioning to adulthood. This webinar will explore unique programs designed to overcome some of these barriers and improve the healthcare transition process for this vulnerable population.

Medicaid Education 101 for Trainees: Learn About Medicaid and Home and Community Based Services

AUCD hosted an educational webinar for trainees to learn about the structure and financing of the Medicaid program and Home and Community-Based Services. The speakers provided an overview of the Medicaid program and its structure and financing. The webinar also provided an overview of what is happening in Congress and the Administration regarding the Medicaid program.

AIR-P Presents: IDD Curricula in the Health Professions: Current State and Future Directions

While most medical students report that they want to learn more about seeing patients with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and feel underprepared to serve these patients when they graduate from their programs, the actual amount and quality of IDD-focused curricular content in medical and dental school curricula greatly varies between institutions. This webinar will present data from a recent WITH-funded research project examining the development of inclusive IDD curricula at medical and dental schools, and will also introduce an AADMD initiative, NICHE medical, that coordinates and supports medical schools who are working to develop innovative, community-engaged IDD curricula.

AIR-P Presents: The LBGTQ Community and Autism: A Community Study of Queer and Transgender Autistic Adults

This webinar will focus on the methods and preliminary results of a qualitative, community-engaged study with queer and transgender autistic adults. We will chart how we partnered with 19 community organizations working with this population to conduct open-ended, in-depth interviews with 65 adults in the Philadelphia area. Preliminary findings address nonbinary identity, self reported autism, health and wellbeing, community engagement, and social support. We are using these findings to structure autistic-led programming for autistic adults to improve wellbeing.

CEDC Webinar: Using the Project ECHO Model to Enhance Your Professional Development and Training

Join the Project ECHO Orientation to learn more about the ECHO model and how you can incorporate it into your work as a UCEDD or LEND program (or partner organization). Cari Glantz and Amy Rieser from the Wyoming Institute for Disabilities will share how they have utilized ECHO in their trainings and how you can become an ECHO partner. ECHO is a training and capacity-building model intended to support inter-professional connection and best practice implementation. Hosted by AUCD's Community Education and Dissemination Council.

LEND and Learn Monthly TA Series: Operationalizing the Self-Advocacy Discipline Competencies

ITAC's new LEND and Learn Monthly TA Series is an opportunity for LEND leadership and faculty to gather once a month to discuss priority TA topics and to learn from each other! Each month will focus on a different topic. A different LEND program will lead each session, including a 15-minute presentation and 45 minutes discussion. Please note that this is not a webinar series. Instead, it is designed to be an informal opportunity for LENDs to connect with one another on topics identified as top TA needs. DBP programs are welcome to participate.
